The amount of flights entering Israel has dropped again and with that, so has my client base. This has caused me to do a bit more “searching” for potential clients. I do meet with some Israelis but only a limited few. I”m attempting to be more flexible with my scheduling, which is not easy, but there are additional obstacles….
The amount of time that those that are visiting has also been shortened, which limits our flexibility in coordinating our different schedules. Also, they seem to have more meetings crammed into shorter time frames. At the end of their business trips they used to have a few days of travel around the country, or just being able to spend time in Tel Aviv, which for obvious reasons have been curtailed. Those periods were good for our meetings, easy to set up and flexible in time.
I’ve had to adjust my strategy, where I now try to meet my clients soon after their arrival in Israel with the later part of his trip being my “backup” in case one of us have to cancel. And being a busy girl being late seems to be part of the GFE which I promise, which I am now fighting to the point where I prefer to be early and wait for my client.
And there are Cancellations
What causes these cancellations? Well though we don’t have many rockets actually landing in Tel Aviv, which can be a major disruption, some of my clients meetings include Israeli’s who are doing their reserve service, who may or may not be able to get to the meeting. For myself, sometimes my extended family with many of my family (both male and female) also in the reserves which also will cause a schedule changes as they need my help (priorities).
