Escorting and Hotel Security

Escorting and Tel Aviv Hotel Security

Hotels are Tightening their Security and what this means for me

I’ve seen two changes in the last years in terms of security. The first one is requiring a card key to enter the elevator. Well I don’t have one and I don’t like the idea of exposing myself in the lobby as an escort to a stranger to use theirs or to go up with the new client. I prefer my method which is to go up alone and quickly slip into their room.

The card key takes away that option from me. More and more hotels are using that option. The second one is one of design, where the reception counter is adjacent to the elevators, too close for me to be comfortable, discretion is not really possible with this design, which no doubt was the object.

Escorting and security

As an Israeli I certainly can appreciate the need for such security and when I’m on vacation it certainly feels good. However as an independent escort the tightened security eliminates hotels that I feel comfortably visiting.

Its not that I can always tell a potential client just which hotels he has to stay at for me to visit. For many the company tells them just exactly which hotels they will be staying at and they really don’t have a choice. True there is the option that they can go to a different hotel for a few hours to meet me, but that is not really comfortable nor given their schedules is that realistic.

What does that mean for me? well its just part of the changing world and since my public profession is gaining clients, I can see I’m in a kind of race: hotel security reducing the hotels I can visit vs my own profession gaining strength reducing the need for my escorting 🙂
